    SLEEVE NOTES:

"Piano Ballade" is an arrangement by Paul Mauriat of Frédéric Chopin's (1810-49) masterpiece piano piece "Ballade No. 1 in G minor" (Op. 23). This piece is a sophisticated arrangement of Chopin's famous piece by Mauriat, and fully conveys the elegance and splendor of the original piece. Paul Mauriat has often shown his love for Chopin, previously producing an album featuring 14 waltzes and covering Gazebo's "I Like Chopin." This time, "Piano Ballade" will be used as the theme song for UCC Coffee, and I believe that the beautiful melody of Chopin, arranged in a stylish way, will provide a pleasant moment for those enjoying their tea.

The B-side track, "Stringfield," is a piece by Raymond Gimenes with an exotic atmosphere. The two tracks, "Piano Ballade" and "Stringfield," are singles from the album "Piano Ballade" (28PP-86).     This song, based on the name of a queen in the Old Testament, was a hit song by French male vocalist Michel Rolland in 1967. In Japan, Paul Mauriat's performance of the song is highly acclaimed and has been well received by people. In addition to "Queen of Sheba," France in 1967 also produced a series of hit songs that later became standards, including "Love is Blue" (sung by Vicky) and "Aranjuez" (sung by Richard Anthony), and all three songs were notable hits in Paul Mauriat's repertoire. It is interesting to note that all three songs are notable hits in Paul Mauriat's repertoire.
